"Recovery is a process, a way of life, and a way of approaching the day's challenges. It is not a perfectly linear process. At times our course is erratic and we falter, slide back, regroup and start again." Patricia E. Deegan 1988 |
Choice Support Service supports people with a diagnosed mental illness through the recovery journey in a flexible manner which is responsive to individual needs and the cyclic and episodic nature of mental illness. Choice is a community based, community managed not-for-profit organisation. We believe that with the right support people can maintain long term wellness and recover from a mental illness and/or psychiatric disability. We assist participants to achieve personal goals and make accessible a holistic range of support options provided by our compassionate professional staff including meaningful activities, social and peer support opportunities, advocacy and individualised personal support. There are also opportunities to get involved and actively participate in the Choice organisation and the wider community. |
