Almost one in four Australians will experience a mental illness at some stage in their lives. These experiences can vary from being a one off short term experience to an ongoing long term illness or disability. With the right support, people can maintain long term wellness and recover from a mental illness and/or psychiatric disability. Mental illness does not discriminate, it affects young old, rich and poor. Choice Support Service supports people with a mental illness through the recovery journey in a flexible manner which is responsive to individual needs and the cyclic and episodic nature of mental illness. |
Choice Support Service Incorporated is a community managed, government funded organisation employing qualified support staff to provide individual support services. Participants have an active input into program development and delivery. Choice Support Service works within a collaborative case management partnership with primary health physicians, mental health services and other community health and welfare organisations. |
